Take a walk in the past

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, S.S. Keewatin will not reopen to visitors in 2020. Updates will appear here. S.S. Keewatin is the world's last Edwardian passenger steamship. Constructed in 1907, five years before TITANIC, in Govan, Scotland, this 350 foot, 8 million pound treasure was built for Canadian Pacific and helped cement the Canadian Federation. She worked for 57 years, carrying people and materials from Southern Ontario to the top of Lake Superior, returning with 1600 tons of grain. Now repatriated to her working post, Keewatin has been lovingly restored by an army of volunteers, so everything is in working condition. She is all-original and open to the public. Guided Tours start every half hour from 10am: the last complete tour of the day starts at 3:30pm. 60 min Upper Decks tour $15.00; 30 min Engine Room tour $7.50; 90 min Combination tour $20.00; 30 min Wheelhouse tour $10.00. Children under 16 are admitted FREE with Adult Accompaniment. NOT wheelchair accessible.

    Incredible Voyage Into The Past!
There is something so genuine about the experience aboard this very special vessel that plied the waters of the Great Lakes so long ago. You truly are transported back in time when you're strolling across the decks of this gem of our maritime history. Nestled away in this sleepy port, it really feels like you've 'discovered' something special - something you want to share with friends and family alike. I highly recommend you take the time to see the Keewatin in all her splendor!

    A MUST SEE!
Do not miss this unique part of Canadian history. The S.S. Keewatin has a spirit all of her own that you will surely feel it as soon as you climb aboard. You will be met by friendly volunteers who are only too happy to tell you all about this gracious " lady of the lakes". Their love of her evident and you will fall in love with her too. . If you plan to visit the Midland, Orillia or Collingwood area, be certain put this destination at the top of your "to do" list Bring comfortable shoes, and a camera. I did the complete tour which includes the two decks and engine room and I would highly recommend this tour, I would set aside two hours for tour, pictures and gift shop visit, I give this attraction a "2 thumbs up" Check out the website at www.sskeewatin.com for more info.
