Decadent High Tea at Leacock House

We just finished the fall High Tea afternoon lunch on the porch at the cafe, Stephen Leacock Museum. It was wonderful. The food was a plentiful serving of specialty finger sandwiches, decadent sweet cakes/Pastries and fruit scones along side refreshing tea in fancy China cups & saucers. The serene view of the grounds & lakefront provided a tranquil atmosphere. Our hostess was gracious and it was a memorable time all around. Thank you.

    Stephen Leacock
Great place to see. Very famous and historical author’s beautiful lakefront home built in 1928. Great history of life of Stephen Leacock. Lovely grounds and lengthy walk path.

    Canadian Funny Man
Saw the sign for this place while driving around Orillia, Ontario over the past weekend. visited this place with my niece while up from the GTR for a visit with her. Did a self guided tour and found this household belonging to this gentleman certainly have an insight into his life while living here. showed his kitchen and writing dem among other areas of the house. one could consider him cheap for a university educated person with along being a University Professor. He liked to hang around American Mark T. and both of these rather funny individual were high profile among the public in the 1880's. Steven L. even wrote a book based on individuals living in Orillia, Ontario and when they fpound out years later were mad at him. one won't be disappointed in visiting this placed based on it's historic place in Canadian literature and humour.
