Enjoyable Cruise

The Rockport Cruises 1000 Islands cruise was very enjoyable and relaxing. It was scenic and we loved cruising past magnificent properties such as the Boldt Castle. The castle is a 120 room castle that George Boldt was building for his wife until her untimely death. It was never completed. The property also included an entry arch, power plant, Alster tower (children’s playhouse) and a yacht house on another island. The cruise was one of our favorite activities on our tour of Eastern Canada. We highly recommend taking this cruise when it reopens in the spring.

Lovely Scenic One Hour Boat Ride
Was a sunny Friday at the end of September and decided to take a 3-hour drive to 1000 Islands. Was very surprised that Rockport Cruise is very busy even during the week with busloads of tour groups. The 1 hour cruises run almost every hour so there is plenty of time available. Since it is coming to the end of the season it is a good idea to check online their timings available. I loved the boat ride. It is so scenic. The upper deck front left of the boat is the perfect spot for viewing and picture taking. You do have to stand though for the upper deck. The lower deck has indoor seating and there is a small area at the front of the boat outside to stand. Also, there is recorded commentary which I clearly heard being outside on the upper deck. The commentary was in English, Spanish, Chinese and possibly French. There were 4 busloads of people on this boat I took so I think they do the commentary in the preferred languages of these tour groups attending. There is free parking at this location, a building with washrooms, a general store that sells lovely Canadian and Indigenous souvenirs, 2 restaurants and a Country Inn.

    10/10
A group of 16 (10 kids aged 6-12, 6 adults) did the 2 hour boat tour. The maps provided online are very helpful in deciding which tour you should do. We got to see lots of beautiful cottages, islands and of course the castle and boat house. The captain and other deck staff were very friendly and social with guests. The cash bar and snacks was an added bonus!! Would definitely do it again! If you’re in the area and haven’t seen the sights I would definitely recommend.
