Beautiful experience

We took the 3h tour on a beautiful day. On the USA side it's better because they can go and visit the castle while on the Canadian border you can only see it from the boat. Still, it is beautiful scenery and great place to take pictures. I will not recommend the 3h tour for children, they will get bored very fast. Not a huge crowed that day so it was great from this point of view. People were pretty quiet and in their bubble, which was good.

It was a nice ride but, please throw that "entertainer" overboard
We took the three hour cruise up to Gananoque and back, on the Island Queen. First the pros - super nice staff, beautiful ride and icy cold beer. The local cottagers that went out of their way to greet the boat as it passed were great. Now the cons - the boat was booked solid / filled to "capacity" which meant that if you didn't get on at the beginning of the line, there weren't enough seats. Once someone was seated, they guarded that spot with their lives so, it ended up that we had to stand at the railing for the full 3 hour ride. The only other option was to sit in the middle of the dining area where there wasn't a view. The biggest disappointment was the on board "entertainment". Spencer James can play a mean keyboard but, he was neither entertaining, funny or, particularly good at singing. It would have been nice to find at least one deck of the boat that was "entertainment free" so that we could enjoy the cruise and scenery in peace.

    More Sound Please
Took the 3 hour cruise on the Island Queen. Enjoyed the tour very much. It was a beautiful day and I would recommend it for anyone visiting the Kingston area. We were a bit disappointed expecting the boat itself to be aesthetically updated- peeling paint etc. We sat outside on the top deck of the boat. Many of the other guests were loud during the narrative of the area. We would recommend additional speakers at the rear of the upper deck. We each enjoyed our drink while onboard and staff were very friendly and efficient. Definitely a “must do” while your in the area!
