Journey Behind the Falls, Ontario, Canada

4.0 (10.3k reviews) Spent Ranking #19 in Niagara Falls Points of Interest & Landmarks • Geologic Formations

Disorganised Shambles

This is an excellent attraction which gives an opportunity to experience the raw power of nature first hand. The vantage points beneath the falls are impressive. Unfortunately an equally lasting memory is the time spent queuing unnecessarily. We bought tickets online which on other attractions means you proceed straight to entry and have a QR code scanned. Simple. Here, you queue in the general queue to redeem for tickets, although those who have prebooked could be hanfled quickly everyone is together. After at least an hour you join another queue to enter behind the falls. This queue has no barriers and is littered with people waiting for family who are in the other queue. Then follows a queue for ponchos and photos. As i say its good, but if on a timescale other attractions manage the queues well and this would be one to miss

    Close up View!
During our 4 days here the weather was a little gloomy and rainy...prior to arriving this is one attraction I wanted to do. We noticed the boat on the falls just packed with people and getting drenched, yet when we did this tour we were literally right beside the falls with a great view and barely got wet at all. Everything here is expensive and they take advantage of the tourists.... If I recall this cost us $50.00 + for the two of us. We just got in an elevator and then walked a little by ourselves to the tunnels and then the viewing area. It was interesting to read some of the stuff on the walls and be behind the falls. The sounds are incredible with the power of the water so I was happy we did plus the viewing areas are super close to the falls to take some time down there. I would recommend this tour especially if your visiting for this reason...most other tours did not interest us and we were happy with just this one.
