Definitely worth it if in the area
Really enjoyed our visit. It wasn’t too crowded, which helped. There are two rooms full of live insects, amphibians, scorpions, etc, in cases……these are very well done, with lots of good info. Also some dead creatures in cases. Some really amazing creatures on display! Then the huge butterfly and bird space. A great variety of butterflies, birds, even some fish and we saw a turtle in the water. Staff was friendly. It was not too hot, probably around 80 degrees. Beautiful plants and water features, and you can walk behind a waterfall. Our kids loved getting within inches of a very relaxed quail who was walking around. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the serenity. There is a cafe, which we did not use. Entrance is fairly expensive……$8 for kids and $20 for adults. We were there for 90 minutes. All in all, a very enjoyable time for kids and adults.

Hot, humid and majestic
There are hundreds of butterflies fluttering about you (or landing on you), exotic birds at your feet and cool exhibits to learn about all the creatures. The passion from the staff offering information, tours and helping you interact with the creatures is a definite plus. We learned so much and were amazed by the learning centres where you could see butterflies emerging from their cocoons or enjoying a tray of sweet treats. The critters were all well cared for and enjoying a beautiful habitat. We spent about an hour looking around and then we visited the lovely gift shop (something for everyone) and enjoyed a light lunch at the spacious cafe. Pleasantly surprised by the experience.
