Drop-off and Scenic cruises amazing

We arrived early in Tobermory and were able to change our cruise reservation to avoid poor weather the next day. They were great in helping us with rescheduling. We enjoyed the 4:15 cruise on July 10 which was a direct drop-off to Flowerpot Island. The cruise back to Tobermory left at 6:55. We enjoyed watching the scenery from the bow both to and from the island. On our final day in Tobermory, we took an extended non-stop scenic cruise on July 12 at 10:50. We chose Blue Heron based on recommendations from family and definitely recommend.

    A Memorable Excursion!
We had a good experience with Blue Heron! I had originally booked tickets for the following day, but was able to cancel them due to the forecasted rain (and a good cancellation policy). Good decision! Instead, we went on a sunny afternoon and were dropped off at Flower Pot Island. I appreciated the free parking downtown, which was included in the price of admission. We also appreciated the glass bottom which gave us a unique view of the shipwrecks and the top deck that offers stunning views of the area. I wish there would have been more commentary along the way to make this even more of an educational experience. Our time on Flower Pot Island flew by! Amazing day trip! We were happy to get back on the Blue Heron promptly at 5 pm. I suggest not booking too long ahead of time, as the weather changes. But at the same time, don't wait until the last minute, as their cruises sell out quickly in July. All in all, I would recommend Blue Heron!

Nice Sail on a Beautiful Day
I took the first morning cruise to Flowerpot Island. The crew and captain were great and it was easy boarding, following all COVID protocols. It was a beautiful day and the trip over was really lovely. We saw the shipwrecks, which was fine but I was most impressed by the clean water and scenery. Flower Pot island itself is worth a visit but there are limited things to do. You can hike by the water (or alternatively, inland) to the flower pot rock formations but getting in to the water is a challenge. There are nothing but rocks. The water is incredibly clear, cold and refreshing but there is no real place to lounge due to the rocks. You need extremely sturdy water shoes to get in, and few people did. The hike itself is not too bad through the forrest but there are lots of rocks and some more challenging areas. Still, parents and kids were able to do it. There were a number of black flies close to the water which was annoying as they bite. Brink water, food and Deep Woods bug spray if you want better protection. I was lucky to catch an earlier ferry back as the time allotted was too long for the limited things to do.
