KOA worth the stay
We will come here again. June 2018 campground empty, hot and windy now but super clean and well organized grounds. September is horse race season when things get going and likely busy. Great campground for easy in out stays. Excellent food in casino walking distance away. We enjoyed it.

Fine races
I enjoy the relaxed setting and the excellent viewing areas for the races. While the casino is always buzzing, the races attract fine horses and the events are spirited and memorable.

Balloon Festival a must-see!
We camped at KOA at the racetrack, was nice to just walk out the door and see the balloons overhead! At nightglow, just took our camp chairs to the rail to see the balloons light up. There were vendors and the morning of the second day had a pancake breakfast for purchase. Near to Will Rogers Museum and antique shops in Claremore as well as JM Davis Gun Museum. Plenty of space between the campers (no tents at this place but Lake Oolagah is nearby if you wanted that) though you need to bring your own grill. Full hookups means no dumping required, and they have nice showers and a gas station is just across the highway. If you like gambling, a nice casino as well as horse racing (they also had lawn mower races). But I really liked the Gatesway Balloon Festival here the weekend we went!
