    Crowded and Poorly Run
Insanely crowded... and that was with capacity limited to 3500 instead of the usual 5000 due to COVID-19. There was no parking to be found (we ultimately parked in the rocky woods next to campers, but this would not have been an option without a truck). There was very little space to move around or swim without being shoulder to shoulder with other people. Because we had to walk so far from where we parked, my husband ran back to get the truck so our two kiddos (ages five and nine) wouldn't have to walk on the road next to cars again. When he came to pick us up, the staff would not let him pull off the road into the full parking lot to pick us up despite there being PLENTY of room to maneuver out of the way and turn around. And then they snapped at us for blocking traffic as I quickly ushered my kids into the back seat. I could not believe how poorly this gorgeous place was run. As another reviewer suggested, it felt like the City is milking this place for every penny they can squeeze out. It is genuinely a very neat place, but not worth it for my family. If you do go, I highly recommend avoiding the weekends and bringing water shoes (note that life jackets are also required for kids under 13).

    Camping nightmare due to management
Took vacation day to get a good campsite, it is supposed to be 1st come 1st serve. The 1st day and a half was wonderful till Saturday we went to get ice and came back to 20 people setting up camp 3 ft from ours with all their stuff on our table. Park management refused to ask them to move even though we had been there for a day and a half. So after 4 hours of ear splitting Tejano karaoke from drunk 17 to 23 year old's we ended up packing up and driving the few hours home, rather than turning it into a physical fight. Park management had the opportunity to do the right thing and ask them to move over or leave and discourage this kind of behavior, but did not. So camping is not 1st come, 1st serve. It is just come in and push out the people who want to relax and enjoy themselves because nobody will stop you.
