Interesting stop on Route 66

Interesting little one room jail cell on Route 66 on Oklahoma / Texas line. Worth a stop if you need to stretch your legs during a trip. If traveling west, you can actually take Route 66 about 10 miles into the next town, which is Shamrock Texas.

    Interesting Place
    Interesting little historical place. Inside has little information, but can't say it was about the actual people who where jailed here. Fun little photo spot and another place around Route 66 to stretch the legs.

    Unique One Cell jail
    In Texola OK is a single cell jail. There is a sign chiseled in rock with names from the Class of '39. The jail stands by itself now in Texola which is virtually a ghost town. Back in the day, more than 300 families lived here. Today the population is less than 30. There are a couple of other places to see as well, but don't spend a lot of time here!
