    Beautiful Tribute
I was a freshman in English class at OU in Norman when the unthinkable happened in downtown OKC. I’ve paid my respects to those lost at the reflecting pool and visited the chairs over the years but Saturday was the first day I actually ventured inside to go through the museum. I knew it would be hard emotionally but I’m glad I visited. It’s a beautiful museum honoring those lost on April 19, 1995. It encompassed the entire Oklahoma spirit and how everyone around the world reacted to the horrific tragedy. I thought the exhibits were extremely well done. Sad yet poignant. A little too much emphasis on McVeigh & Nichols for my liking but I understand it’s to educate people on how and why the bombing occurred. It’s a lovely tribute to honor the victims, families. rescue workers & anyone that volunteered or worked the scene. Definitely a must see if you are near OKC. *OKC Thunder is graciously paying admission the entire year of 2020 on the 25th of the month in honor of the upcoming 25th anniversary.

What more can be said? This is a powerfully moving experience that places you in the moment and walks you through the aftermath of this tragedy. It's an emotional trip and hard to look at sometimes, but also done in a respectful and matter of fact way. I think they've done an excellent job of communicating the chaos of the moment and helping the visitor understand the incredible courage of those who survived and those who ran towards danger and not away from it (which was nearly the entire city). I was with a group that was lucky enough to get a private tour with someone who was there. I don't know that it was exactly like the EYEWitness tour mentioned on the site, but I would think it was similar. I think that experience would certainly be worth the extra money, but you won't be disappointed simply doing a self tour either. The museum is expertly arranged and the entire experience is something I think everyone should experience. I'll remember it forever.
