Lawton/Ft. Sill fun
We were in the Army at Ft. Sill and lived in Lawton for 7 years. There is so much to do in this area: Wildlife Refuge, Lake Lawtonka, the museums on Ft. Sill, the tar pits, the bluffs. Very fun and affordable.

One of the Spiritually Mystic Place on Earth
There are places on earth that, for one reason or another, evoke of sense of spiritual awareness, calmness and peace. Medicine Bluff is one of those for me. When I drive up the the bluff I am struck by the hugness of this shear rock face but as I walk down to the water at the base I get the feeling spiritual connectedness. While I have been several times I have a desire to go with my lawn chair and and just sit for a few hours. The site has special meaning for American Indians and I can partially understand why. While it would not be a place for everyone to visit, if you like taking a few moments to commune and connect with nature I believe this would be a place for you. When you enter Fort Sill just ask for a map and directions. If you go, post a response to see how Medicine Bluff affects you, or not. I would not advise this site for handicaped visitors as the site it not maintained and the paths and stairs are in very rough shape.
