Quiet Rustic Getaway
Peaceful beautiful surroundings that offer a great getaway in a simple rustic cabin over looking the lake. Pet friendly. Be prepared to furnish your own cookware and dinner placements if you decide to use the stove, microwave, coffeemaker, or toaster. We had to make a quick run to Dollar General for mugs.

Enjoyable swimming spot
We ventured to Lake Wister for a swim while we were camping in the area. There is a long beach designated for swimming, and it was popular the day we visited. The water was nice, and we had a great time. Accessible parking right next to beach. One note: the state could do a better job marking off the swimming area with buoys to make it obvious to passing boaters and to give the swimmers an appropriate distance to venture out. Second note: if you come into Wister from the north, beware the speed trap!
