Lake Texoma State Park, Oklahoma, United States

Hidden gem

We were looking for a place to go to from Dallas which allows us to adhere to social distancing in midst of Covid. Lake Texoma is about an hour and half drive from Dallas and the place is serene. The lake is expansive and has many options from boating, fishing, etc. We loved the small beach by the lake and it was blissful to be close to the water and unwind a little bit by the lake. We stayed till sunset and it was nice.

    Old vs New
Went many times to the old park and lodge. Affordable golf course, water bumper cars, miniature golf, restaurant and refreshment stand in the park and clean facilities in the camp areas. All gone but camp sites. New park is down the road and not right on the lake. Nice I am sure, but not the old State Park if that is what you are looking for. Area still has great fishing.

Stopped by for a few hours
There's a lot of construction now where the Lodge and golf course used to be. No idea what is planned there. The lake access is limited but many other access points around the lake other than the SP for camping in private campgrounds. No idea of what will be officially 'in' the state park after all the construction. Otherwise, there's a few remnants of what the park used to be 25 years ago to use.
