Quaint Little Town with Historic Old Buildings

If you enjoy planning your road trips away from interstate roads and around quaint little towns, Tonkawa fits the bill. Besides the Heart in the Park, there are grainery buildings and historic railroad car, etc. My mini road trip this weekend, for example, started N of OKC on I-35 with my first stop in Tonkawa. I took time to walk around downtown and see the Heart in the Park. Then I continued on to Pawhuska and dined at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile and walked across the Swinging Bridge. My last stop was Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve (Bartlesville). So much fun! I would definitely do this ALL again.

    Quick Stop while Passing Through
We stopped at this quaint little park on our way to Kansas. It takes about 15 minutes to see everything but it is kind of cool. It is a small park with brick design artwork of the towns history.

Internationally Known Labyrinth But a Little Out of the Way
Not really worth driving out of the way unless you enjoy art. This is a large piece of artwork made of rocks in the shape of a labyrinth. You can park in the small lot next to it and walk over. Be ware of the birds - there are tons! Came late in the day so most of the businesses nearby were closed and the streets fairy empty. Quiet, almost eerie.
