If History is your interest, dont miss this
Located in the heart of the historic area of Chickasha is this museum. Great collection. Probably one of the coolest things, that i have not seen anywhere else is a complete Boy Scout History of every boy that has made Eagle. complete story and I am guessing this was an eagle project in and of its self. Chickasha is an old town going back to Indian Territory Days. The Fairgrounds served as a German Prison during WWII. Also Black Gold's Colt ran at the horse track in 1906. There is lots to do in Chickasha and the residents are proud of this county seat in OKLAHOMA . It is located 24 miles sw of OKC in the beautiful Washita River Valley.

A FRIENDLY STEP BACK IN TIME
I told the lady at airport security that the heavy item in my bag was an internally illuminated model of Chickasha City Hall. "Excuse me if I don't believe you", she replied. Imagine her surprise when she found the model in question. You can have one too, if you visit the Grady County Historical Museum. Oh, there's also one of the Rock Island Depot. So, if you enjoy the museum as much as I do, you can take a little bit of Chickasha's history away with you. The people are so friendly, and the items on display are quite fascinating. Why not take in the Crazy 8 Café at the same time - it's just beyond the museum, under the same cover that is so welcome on a very hot or very wet day. The theater down the road is a classic too!
