Fort Sill National Historic Landmark and Museum, Oklahoma, United States
4.5 (136 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Lawton Military Museums • Military Bases & Facilities
Easy to spend the whole day
To visit here, you need to first go to the Fort Sill visitor center with your ID to get a day pass. Apparently there’s a golf course and bowling alley because people were coming to play there. The museums are free, and there’s 2 museum areas. My kids loved seeing how there is an entire city inside those guarded walls. There’s a Pizza Hut, Burger King, basketball court, gas station, etc. Behind the buildings opposite the gift shop (which wasn’t open), there’s a nice playground. There’s a large lawn for playing/relaxing. We could have spent the entire day.

Lots to take in!
The check in area for the base was user friendly- there was a kiosk with wash to follow prompts. The museum was well laid out. Besides the museum, we also drove around the old historic buildings and visited the gift shop. It was an educational visit.

The artillery museum is a must see
The Artillery Museum has weapons and vehicles and other exhibits that you are not going to find anywhere else. Very educational and interesting. Old Fort Sill museum was closed for Christmas but I was able to walk and drive around and look through windows. A lot of history here.
