Dinosaur Quarry, Oklahoma, United States

4.0 (23 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Kenton Points of Interest & Landmarks

On Google maps search for "dinosaur tracks". It will take your right not it.

How cool is this?! Actual dinosaur tracks in the middle of nowhere. No signs or anything to mark them makes it even better because it's almost like a treasure hunt. My husband, 4-year-old, 15-year-old and I visited the dinosaur tracks. I ended up finding it on google maps on my iPhone, which made them pretty easy to find. You have to search a little bit once you get out of your vehicle and walk to the area. You need to walk a bit to the left and they are pretty easy to spot. There was one other person exploring when we were searching. At first, we walked the wrong way, and apparently, he did too because he said, "Oh, there they are." We had so much fun exploring this area. A nice little day adventure for us.

    Open your mind.
You are getting exactly what you are promised. Dinosaur tracks in the middle of the desert. It took me a little while to find this, and once I walked down the quarry I noticed what looked simply as stamped prints in the mud. I laughed as I walked down to them, thinking this was nuts! I stood there, in the peace and solitude of the environment and thought, this cannot be real. I bent over and touched the tracks, assuming they would just crumble into dirt. Once I realized that these were legitimate stone fossil imprints I was speechless. It was simply amazing. And at this moment in time, you are allowed to stand there with a child-like innocence and just exist with this majestic feeling of wonder. Stand in the tracks, walk through each print. It is just fun. If you are in the area, you need to make the stop. I mean, come on...you are in the middle of the desert!

    might as well
Right down in the ditch next to parking. Not super exciting, but since you are in the area, you might as well check it out.
