Locally Lovable
This jewel in the rough is only a 10 minute drive from our home, yet we had no idea it even existed until we started searching out local wineries. The DeAngel Winery is the first ever licensed winery in Blanchard, OK. When we arrived, our eyes were immediately drawn to the lush and beautiful trellised blackberry vines growing out back. Once inside the simple exterior, we were taken by the friendly and comfortable atmosphere created by our host, Frank. He is not only one of the family owners, but also an absolute delight to speak with. We sampled just about every variety he had in stock, mostly sweet and fruity, which really appealed to our mostly unsophisticated wine palates. This is also a working farm, so they offer locally grown and canned jams, jellies, apple butter, pickles, and even honey. This was such a great experience, we are already planning to return when a new batch of wine is ready for sampling.
