Great Food, Great View
I love coming to CrossTimbers when we go to Keystone! The employees are always really nice and the food is delicious. Service sometimes seems a little slow, but you can't really complain when you're out on the dock waiting. Also,they have the best fried pickles I've ever had!

Mother's Day Outing
First, I should mention that my husband is amazing for doing exactly what I requested for Mother's Day. A weekend camping trip with my family on the lake AND rent a boat. So... the boat. First, Cross Timbers website will tell you that the rental time slot we chose was for 2pm-6pm. When my husband made the reservation, his info said 2:30-6:30p. We arrived at 2:30 only to be told that we were called (not called) to show up at 2pm because their booking software got it wrong and we were late. They ended up refunding us money for the time we would not get to use the rental, so, ok. Fine. By the time we make it out to the dock it's 2:40. First boat- no gas. The teenager helping us disappeared. 2nd boat? No gas. Or not coming on. Or both. Who knows. Another teen shows up to help. A man driving one of their rentals alone pulls up to the dock. Apparently now this is our boat. They gas us up. By now - It's 3pm. That whole mess is the reason for 3 stars. Here's the bottom line. Skiatook Lake is beautiful. Really beautiful. The water was choppy but we didn't care. The water was cold - we didn't care. The boat performed as promised and we had a great time. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us - we could have easily had double our numbers (which is the max the boat will hold). Would be a great thing to split with friends to make it more affordable (After all fees etc..- if you get your full 4 hours- the rental will set you back around $340). Our kids are tweens, and they really enjoyed it, but this would be a fun little venture for small children as well. Will we rent from them again? Maybe. We will have appropriate expectations next time. Here's my advice for making this process smooth: 1) After you book - call ahead to verify the rental times. 2) Get there early - that way if you have to wait in line you won't be getting on the water later than you would like As of this morning, we have not yet received our refund for the 4-hour charge, and were still charged for a 3-hour rental as well. Hopefully that's just a card company thing... We will follow up today.
