Finding Treasure in Oklahoma's Osage country
This gallery is crammed full of beautiful things -- paintings, pottery, metalwork, jewelry, and much, much more. Eighty-per cent of the art was created by Cha Tullis. This has to be the largest collection of Native American and Western items in Oklahoma. Best chance to see and talk to the artist -- Friday and Saturday. Other days he's busy in his gallery. In the '90s he painted dozens of murals through town. They're faded now, but he says that is they way they should be -- when they're gone, it's time for another artist to paint what is important to him. The murals are still beautiful and the giant metalwork piece on the hill west of town is also his creation. What a joy to meet him and talk with him. It's worth the drive to Hominy -- and the Osage Hills surrounding the town are beautiful too.
