German POW Camp Memorial
Camp Tonkawa was used as a German Prisoner of War Camp during World War II. The camp was constructed in about two months, from the efforts of over 900 construction workers, working 24-hour shifts. Today, a historical marker resides at the location of the camp, complete with a diagram of the camp's layout.
