Unique Powdery Salt
We had hired a taxi for a tour of Miyakojima. The salt factory was part of the itinerary. It was mainly an annex store selling salt and snack products. Through the glass window, we only saw a couple of workers dressed in white bagging the powdery salt. They sold a good assortment of infused salts including chilli, wasabi, lime & green tea. A great gift for serious cooks. It is recognized by the Guinness Book of Records for producing ‘salt that has the most mineral element varieties’. It is extracted from the Ryukyu limestone where it was deposited over 50,000 years ago. There was a cafe within the complex that sold beverages, ice cream and freshly baked mini croissants. Watch the person stuff a piece of butter into the dough. I had one plain croissant and one lightly dusted with salt. The salt was the best. Real buttery taste! Worth a stop over.

The cookie are suprisingly good
The cookies are good although quite expensive, the salt factory is too small and not operate in full mode, so you only here for the cookies (at least for me)
