12 steps and history

The 12 steps leading into their home was a great start. You felt the history and the magnitude of what Dr Bob and his family accomplished there to start AA. Great reproductions as well as actual artifacts and furniture. The volunteers were knowledgeable and very welcoming.

    Sharing a Story
Dr. Bob's House is synonymous with Akron, Ohio like Tony Packos is to Toledo. As one of the founders of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) this house is a mecca for all visitors. Ring the doorbell or walk right in. Tour guides are extremely friendly and knowledgable and, welcome all who walk in with open arms. Come see for yourself and learn something interesting.

    Thanks for welcoming me home
After stopping by Mayflower Hotel (now Mayflower Manor) and finding virtually nothing about AA there, it was wonderfully different here. We drove up, parked our car on the street and walked towards the house. A man was mowing the lawn as we approached. He stopped, turned around, shook our hand, and gently said, "Welcome Home." It was exactly what I needed The tour was wonderful, the house in impeccable condition, the docents well informed. A terrific first visit.
