Amazing architecture and history.
Built to memorialize Alexander II following his assassination in 1881, this magnificent church with Italian pink marble floors and numerous mosaics was modeled after 16th and 17th century churches, contrasting sharply with the prevailing architectural styles.

The Church of our Savior of the Spilled Blood
Although quite a long name, however, due to its uniqueness, I couldn’t have any difficulty remembering its name by heart. I crossed the Canal through Italian Bridge, which is on the mid-way to my walk from Nevsky prospect to church. The Church of our Savior on the Spilled Blood is, undoubtedly, one of the best attractions of the city. It dates back to the late 19th century and was constructed by the order of Alexander III. It was built on the spot where Alexander II was assassinated by social rebellions in 1881. Inside, the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, you can see over 7,500 square meters of mosaics that make it one of the largest collections of its kind in the world. Its admission fee is 250 Rubbles.

Heart of the Saint Petersburg
A must see place in Saint Pet is Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. It is included in my top-3 of cathedrals in the city, however the loveliest is Saint Isaac`s cathedral. It has a breathtaking long history since it was founded in 1883 on the site where Tsar Alexander II was assassinated – therefore «spilled blood». The inner decoration looks majestically due to numerous of mosaics. The fact is this church has the greatest square of mosaics in the world with over 7.500 sqm of amazing artwork. Entry fee is 350 rubles and it was a bit surprising for us that excursion is included for free. Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood leaved me overwhelmed and awe, I would recommend it to visit.
