Great HIKE and swim and plunge!

Spectacular all year - see this area from the ground in the dry season, and from the air in the wet season. The Jim Jim Area is only accessible by 4WD during the dry season. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters (charges apply). Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season

    A difficult walk
Jim Jim Falls was quite an experience…… when we read the reviews we scoffed when the walk in was described as ‘challenging’. With a 3 and 5 year old, there was blood, sweat and tears. It was extremely difficult with small children in the heat of the day. I would not recommend. It’s definitely ok for a fit adult, but the sheer size of the rocks to climb over for a distance of 500m is a little too much for little legs. This is one for early morning if you take children in. There is also very little to no shade in the middle of the day at the actual plunge pool (or beach area). A suitable car for the last 6kms is recommended. Something with a little clearance. In oct there were still a few small creek crossings.

    So tranquil
Took the rough gravel road into Jim Jim. Last 14kms soft 4WD. A couple of shallow water crossings. The walk from the car park Was over rocks and tree roots. The first section to the viewing area was ok. After that the rocks became boulders and were more slippery. You are rewarded with a beautiful sandy beach. We were there by 8am and there were a lot of crocodile tracks in the sand.
