Perfect place for a great day at pure fresh air and nature!
Highly recommended for a day trip or for camping for night also possible. Very easy to walk and guided by signs. Good to go summer to late October - scenes are just breathtaking beautiful and seasonally changing.

Beautiful swampy nature
Me and my husband stayed an overnight in Tiilikkajärven Kansallispuisto. We rented a cabin called Sammakkotammi and it was lovely. The cabin is very small, but has everything you need for a day or two, even a fridge that operates on gas. Other people may use the fire place and a toilet there, but that didn´t bother us much. The route called Uiton kierto that circles lake Sammakkojärvi, starts right at the cabin and it´s about 7 kilometres if you take the full circle. We did, and it was absolutely beautiful. Most of the route is swampy scenery and some forest also. Near Uitto you can take an extra loop an visit a place called Venäjänhiekka. It has the most beautiful sandy beach which is ideal for swimming and you can also camp there with a tent. I recommend this place for anybody who is keen to nature and some easy hiking in beautiful place. There were not too many other people, I´m not sure if the case is always like that, or if we were just lucky.

Large National Park close to Rautavaara. One can find activities year round as paths on summer and ski tracks on winter times
