Poço Negro, Northern Portugal, Portugal

4.5 (60 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Viana do Castelo District Bodies of Water

magical will nature

An amazing natural lake and waterfall, surrounded by stones and a lot of green nature. It's a great spot to swim and relax, enjoying the nature untouched. The descending is easy, but to get back to the road is a long walk but worth definitely for the peace and nature found in the bottom Is also not easy to park the car and it's the only way to get there. NOTE: If you visit this place, do your best to leave it as you found it, bring back all your trash.

    Beautiful swimming hole
We are lucky in New Zealand to have access to exquisite swimming holes, and this was far up there for beauty.

Poco Negro is the village swimming pool
Quite a trek down (and of course up) but a lovely cool place to spend a hot day. There are other pools along the river that can be accessed by means of the GR long distance path as it exits Soajo towards Cunhais, at the point where it meets the river
