Visit the Castle, Museum and Church in Bragança.
Once you have passed the old gate to enter the location of the Castle of Bragança, on the opposite side of the castle you have the “Santa Maria Church” who was also closed on the moment of our visit, but we gathered the following information: the church was built in the 19th century. She is also known as the Church of Our Lady of Sardon. They gave this name because of the existing legend. The church of Santa Maria in the Roman style is considered as the oldest church of Bragança, but during suffered during two centuries of modifications, who finally resulted in a Baroque style. The façade features a baroque portal richly decorated with two salmonid columns decorated with leaves of vines and curls topped by a pediment interrupted by a niche. Together with the Castle Museum a very nice location for a visit.

A nice church close to the castle
A nice church with Baroque features and a beautiful painted ceiling and gilded woodcarvings. It is situated on top of the hill right next to the castle.
