Charming place

Beautiful part of Oulu, market square with policeman next to beautiful indoor market. We were there with a bunch of colleagues and very much enjoyed the place, had a good coffee nearby and then moved for a dinner. If you end up in Oulu then that is the part of the city to be visited for sure !

Good Finnish food at reasonable price
I ate here twice while in Oulu. The salmon soup is excellent and so is the pan fried salmon. On another visit I had the sauteed reindeer and I was also pleased with it. Prices are moderate for the area compared to other restaurants serving similar menus. The interior was warm and inviting and service was friendly and attentive.

Good to see. Once.
It's just a statue of a fat Finnish policeman! However, immediately to the left of the photograph is Kauppahalli, a hall of small shops which is definitely worth a walk-around if not for just the odours and diversity therein. Fish counters at the far end are amazing, and you can even buy reindeer there. Café, Chinese restaurant (Pikku Panda) and plenty of variety, a must goto place!
