Newly renovated historic Market Hall

This neo-Gothic Market Hall was opened in 1901 in the Oulu Market Square. The interior is beautiful with wooden shop stalls along the two aisles. At the moment, there are construction works going next to the Market Hall. The new Oulu Market Square Hotel will be built.

    Beautiful building but so little shops
    Beautiful building nicely renovated. Very little shops which is a pity. Five starts for the building itself. The market hall is build in 1901 and even tough it is renovated the old times charm is still there. Fish, reindeer and Finnish souvenirs for tourists.

    Beautiful market hall, but not enough food stalls
    The city made good job renovating it's almost 120 years old market hall. Unfortunately the number of stalls selling fresh local food reduced after the renovation. More stalls selling tourist products than fish or meet.
