The unique green oasis in the city center
This public urban park is located in the delta of the River Oulu. The area was built as a public park already in the 1860s. Small brooks and waterways divide the park area into smaller and larger islands. Old charming wooden bridges are connecting them. The greenhouses used by the University of Oulu Botanical Gardens are today used by the environment department of the city. A cafe is located in one of the greenhouses. A central playground and a rose garden are located next to the greenhouses. From the Hupisaaret islands, you can also find the Northern Ostrobothnian museum, the Oulu Museum Of Art, the architecturally impressive summer theater pavilion, and the Merikoski fishway built along the River Oulujoki.

One of the most beautiful city parks in Finland
A gem almost in the centre of Oulu. Little streams around the park have streaming water even in the winter time. There are even trouts living in the streams. Very popular picnic destination and good for jogging.

Lovely park in the centre of the city
Great park full of streams, bridges and naturally a great variety of trees and plants. Child playground and other facilities and within the park. Watch out for the cyclists! They have equal rights with pedestrians here!
