Tirpitz Museum is a war museum that is located in Kåfjord outside the city of Alta in Finnmark county, Norway. Tirpitz Museum is open from 10.00 to 17.00 every day from 1 June to 1 September. Out of season we open on request for groups or other special occasions.

WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW!
The Tirpitz Museum is the best, such museum I have ever visited. The Museum is about a 45-minute drive from Alta, Norway, has an extensive and superb collection of artifacts and exhibits of the ship. There are also, nearby, a few remnants of the ship. She was later sunk near Tromso, Norway. WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! if you are interested in WWII naval warfare, do not miss this museum.

Well Worth a Visit
Recently I was on a cruise and had the opportunity to visit the site where the Tirpitz was sank. Unfortunately about 1100 sailors lost their lives. I recall the time as a youngster when the RAF and mini submarines were involved in its sinking. The tour incorporated visiting the crater where one of the bombs exploded on land. We then went to see the exhibition that contained several items found in he oil-soaked sand at the point where the ship toppled trapping all those seamen.
