    Don’t miss this Museum
This was our second visit to this Museum and there was still not time to take everything in. Although it is small , the actual collection is huge with so many unique items packed into the displays. If you are interested in history you will not be disappointed , everything you see is original with many extremely rare items on show . You will come away knowing much more about the tragic effects of war in this area of Norway .Highly recommend a visit to this most interesting and informative collection .

Well worth a visit and near the port enterance
A really great little museum. this little gem of a place is just outside the port gates to the left of the car park. Inside you will find a wonderful exhibition relating to the island's history during WW2 and loads of little curios relating both to the German occupation complemented by a fine collection of German uniforms of the period. The owner of the collection is a very amiable chap who not only is very knowledgeable on the subject but eager to share this with the visitors from his desk just within the front door. We spent some time discussing this sad period of history with him and treasured drawings by Adolf Hitler are both charming and sinister. All in all a very well spent afternoon that I would recommend to anybody with a curious mind.
