    Excellent and interesting
A short walk from the hotel, overlooking the lake, interesting exhibits on WW2 in the region, Sami culture and Savio woodcuts. I’m not really a museum person but the exhibits were very well done with English translations and not too big to overwhelm. Most noticeable was how accessible the presentation is - the objects were not all hidden under glass or behind barriers. We know not to touch so being able to see things better helps to engage the imagination. Highly recommended. Allow a couple of hours.

    incredibly moving and varied experience
first off its small but packed with variety, such as the paintings by the Sami artist Sovo? which are NOT boring art but amusing and quirky in their take on sami life. the Sami museum was small but interesting but the big hit was the was area. Seeing WW2 from the perspectiveof an occupied nation but walking up there in January emphasised the awful conditions in which was fought. the poetry was incredibly moving and enough in itself to tell the story...the rest of the narrative could be ignored. loved the tiny display about the reaction of Norwegian teachers to Quislings orders. small but really worth while.
