Highlight of my Visit to Kimberley
Th Kimberley Big Hole Museum is really the second part of visiting the Big Hole. I would suggest you do the tour of the mine first and then spend time in the museum with its impressive historical displays. The timeline wall is a feature, I would suggest you spend time reading this.

Excellent display of old buildings and artifacts
Situated right next to the Big Hole, this museum has a unique collection of 1900ish buildings and artifacts. Very quiet the day I visited, though I expect it does get busier at the weekend. You can have a ride on the tram if you so wish, don't know the cost or how long the journey was, but overall well worth a visit.
