Easy walks through a cloud forest

Nice place to wander in nature and see the cloud forest. A few toursity bits at the entrance - but actually quite nice to be able to east and drink nearby. Trekking and horseriding are available if you like. The place is a bit disappointing as it claims to be a private reserve and signs ask you to respect nature and only go with a guide. But this doesn't seem to be the case and it is open to the public and you can just walk in. So there is also quite a lot of rubbish and damage to plants and the hillside from people climbing around, picking things ad making a bit of a mess.

Nice leafy suburb 15 km northwest of Salta.
Our hosts at El Relax Hostal loaned us their Subte Card to take Bus #7(7 Ap each) from the southeast corner of Parque San Martin. The winding route through Salta and then San Lorenzo made it a one hour trip. The exit is at the actual Quebrada de San Lorenzo where the rushing stream passes by the Aguas del Norte Plant. We walked up the trail until realizing the best pathway is the road where the horses go. In a km, we needed to ford the stream to proceed to the Mirador, but we did not have the proper footwear, so we returned to walk back to town. The shaded lane was downhill, filled with the sounds of birds, and fronted by many large beautiful summer homes, including the 1800's El Castillo de San Lorenzo. After passing a bank ATM and several restaurants, we came to a covered bus stop to catch Bus #7(every 10 minutes) for the ride back to Salta. This is a perfect "good weather" outing for exploring nature and the shaded lanes of upscale San Lorenzo.

    Water creek Outside Salta
This is outside downtown Salta, roughly 20 to 25 minute drive. The town of San Lorenzo is pretty. the Quebrada (stream) is a park, there is a parking area, and its accessible by bus. There is a restaurant and a market to buy local handmade goods for tourist. You can wonder around the green foliage and see water creeks. That is about it.
