The best museum for Andean mummies

The high altitude archaeology is something relatively new and the teams working in Argentina are doing really good. Not all the mummies are on display at the same time. During my visit only 3 of the 8 they have were on display and the information they have for each of the offering items accompanying the mummy is really valuable. The historical information about the Incas are also very precise, for sure written by archaeologists. The museum shop is a bit expensive, but you can find rare books that are not available in regular bookstores.

    saw the mummies
charge of £10 entry for tourists have 2 alternating child mummies there amongst other things. Your not allowed to take pictures of mummies or video tape. Still a good experience the mummys vibrant red colours were exceptional like they had just been made. Most museums are free here and across argentina with requests for donations there are also siesta closing times so need to be in well before one or after 4/5 very good experience also a couple of rooms with videos you need to wait for your translatable preference as it goes in a rota hence time of 2 to 3 hours to make the most of the visit

    Fascinating
This museum with a fair entry fee is highlighted by the discovery of "sacrificed" children who were entombed in a mountain. The museum is about the relics and life of the Incas in a mountainous area in Argentina. It is worth a visit. There is a video on the " mummies"..the processes of investigation etc. The museum is within an old building but is modernized. There is no guide in English but some of the displays..not all, have English descriptions. The museum is spread over several floors of medium floorspace. There is an elevator as well as stairs. A gift shop is also present.
