Historic site
Historic site amazing architecture from the 19th century. Of note is all the woodwork made out of cardón wood, a protected species of desert cactus. The ironwork is also late 19th century. This house was the site where a group of nationalists declared independence from Spain.

Cradle of Argentine Independence
No trip to Tucuman would be complete without a visit to the Casa Historica. An English language tour is available on request at no cost. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about the early 19th century Independence movement in Argentina and South America. In order to avoid any problems, the visitor would be wise not to accept the offers of young men outside of the Casa Historica to take your photo with your camera.
