Probota Monastery - 598-005 on the UNESCO List

I was there in february and the weather wasn't very nice. I couldn't enter in church, only in the courtyard. Less known than Voronet Monastery, Probota is similar in arhitecture and exterior painting.

    Precious gem!
    Probota Monastery is magnificent! It is worth visiting this place, you will not regret it! Following the restoration works, the paintings are now more beautiful than ever. Actually, recent scientific studies showed that the well known “Voronet blue” color was first used to paint the exterior of this church, the difference being that the Voronet wall was less exposed and thus better kept its color. ?

    Splendid
    Outside the main route to the more well-known monasteries, this one is recently renovated with EU and Japanese funds, very well maintained and with a splendid location for the nuns. I think it's the most beautiful monastery in the Moldavia region now. It'll probably more visited when the expected A7 highway that will pass nearby will be finished. The good old silent days will be gone..
