In 1850, the prince Grigore Ghica, visiting the Botosani, and seeing that there is a lack of a house for the administrative institutions and other authorities in this town, buys the house with the sum of 2,000 yellow and gives it to Botosani. In October 1864, when Mihai Eminescu became a copist in court, several buildings of the city of Botosani were located in this building: the Prefecture, the County Court, the Municipality, the Police and the Fire Brigade.
