Interesting Monastery

Visiting this Monastery on the way to Piatra Neamț, we found ourselves at an interesting place. The Monastery grounds are well taken care of. When getting into the church, what mainly surprised me is the natural lighting. the walls are painted with the tradition of the Monasteries in the area, but the natural lighting and the high ceilings cause the ceiling to be covered in dark, giving this place a feel of greatness. Just outside of the Monastery walls, there is also a wooden church that is located in a graveyard, and it very interesting (although it was closed and we couldn't get inside). Overall I'd recommend visiting in late morning / early afternoon so you can enjoy the lighting...

Bistrita Monastery ,an old spiritual place for Romanians
I visited this very old religious complex in October. The Bistrita Monastery in Valcea County ,not very far from Horezu ,is located near the village Costesti .It was founded by a rich family in 1490 ,Craiovesti. It is famous for the relics of Saint Gregory Decapolite ,brought from Constantinople in 1497.Today the complex is visited by many pilgrims .It was restored many times and in 1850 Gheorghe Tattarascu realized its beautiful paintings .Many important religious books were printed for the first time in the in the old monastery in the 16 th century .The courtyard is wonderful ,the nuns live inside the complex .It is one of the most valuable churches from Oltenia .

Bistrita Monastery - in Neamt county!
It seems that Tripadvisor created some confusion mixing up the Bistrita Monastery from Bistrita county with Bistrita Monastery from Neamt county. They are totally different things and Bistrita county is definitely not in Neamt county. Anyway, I guess both of them worth a visit but I visited only the one in Neamt. A typical north-Moldavian monastery, full of peace and history.
