Great museum with many unusual machines
Excellent motorcycle museum with stacks of interesting classic bikes; lots of old British machines but also many other unusual European bikes, alongside more recent Japanese classics. Really impressive: much more substantial than you'd expect in such an unusual place. All very well displayed with plenty of space so you can see them clearly, and useful info-boards (mostly in English). Lots of wonderful old photos of bikes being used in Iceland. Very friendly and knowledgable staff; spoke excellent English. Inexpensive admission fee and free help-yourself coffee. Very modern building. Clean toilets. We spent a couple of hours here - could easily have been longer! Definitely worth checking when they have a 'start up day' in the summer, and go along to hear the old bikes being run. Takes about a half hour to walk from the centre of town. Check the opening hours if you're visiting out of season.

A rarity that should not be missed
Here you have a collection of some of the worlds best bikes and a delightful guide that was both informative and humorous. A thousand thanks and keep up the good work. Gullu, Otto and Stuart

Lots of interesting bikes!
We arrived at 2:40 and a nice gentleman told us they close at 3pm, but he agreed to stay a little longer so we could have a look around. Some very interesting bikes, and bikes you don't see in America. Although we hurried through so we wouldn't keep him too long, we got to see most of the over 100 bikes. Definitely recommend a visit!
