A beautiful and fascinating area
The views along the river and from the top of the dam are beautiful. We hired bikes from the tourist office in Gemünd and rode the flat 13km to the Urfttalsperre. The scenery along the river was really beautiful.

Old but still impressive dam
Built in 1900-05 the Urft Dam is a circa 60 meters high dam on River Urft. The Urft Reservoir was for years the biggest water reservoir in Europe. It is a picturesque place to visit when in the Eifel National Park

Impressive to see such a work build
Impressive to see such a work build in such a pretty environment. Take your time to walk here, it is definitely a highlight in the area. From here you can walk to Vogelsang if you are in good condition.
