    Relaxing day off!
A few of my colleagues and I spent the day at Sechs-Seen-Platte while in Oberhausen on business for a week. We had the day off on Monday and decided to spend our time here based on the great TripAdvisor reviews. It did not disappoint! We stopped by a grocery store to grab some drinks & picnic lunch before coming here. Would recommend this as it doesn't appear there are many restaurants within walking distance to the beaches. Bring your beach towel, a swimsuit, and a good book - very nice beaches for relaxing and taking a dip when it gets too warm!

    Peace, Quiet, and Nature
This is one of my training grounds for me - I am a long distance runner (non-professional). I am a city girl as much as I enjoy the outdoors, and believe me when I say this feels like an oasis for your busy schedule and your packed social life. the Sechs-See-Platte may not give you breathtaking views of mountains or valleys that other parts of Germany and Europe does, but it's enough to quiet the mind and make you notice of the little things in nature. For long walks, a good run, dog-spotting, or a little romp in the bush (I'm not responsible for this suggestion!), Sechs-See-Platte is maybe understated - and highly recommended by yours truly! p/s: if you're dependent on public transportation, the S-Bahn from Duisburg Hbf may seem inconvenient especially with the sparse departure/ arrival time, but it's worth it. Take a few hours out of your weekend to visit, and maybe pack a picnic!
