A trip back in time
I wanted to see the Mohnesee Dam as I last saw it in 1985. It has changed considerably but in a nice way and it's still not too touristy. There are hotels and cafes alongside it but not to the extent I had imagined. It was a really lovely place and is well worth visiting.

Cash Only
The trip its self is ok on a nice day but nothing too spectacular. But just make sure you have cash as they owners see fit to remain in the 1970s and not accept cards of any type including the German EC card. For the price of the trip this in not really acceptable in 2019. Especially for International guests who expect card payments at attractions like this. The attendant told us there is a cash machine about 1km away. This really helps if the car park is full. Just a warning.
