Textilwerk and Textilmuseum - two great and interesting pla es to visit and learn

More than 20,000 spindles once turned at the Herding Spinning Mill. Today, the imposing brick building is a forum for textile culture. Special exhibitions offer insights into the technology and show off fashion design and international textile art. Function rooms and a glass rooftop café provide space for events. In close proximity to this is another site, the Weaving Mill. In the huge weaving hall, the drive belts still set more than 30 historic machines in motion. Materials are produced here on a daily basis for the tea towels and tablecloths of our historic collection. In a worker‘s house, complete with cultivated garden, you can get to know the meagre everyday life of workers‘ families.

Textilwerk and Textilmuseum - two great and interesting pla es to visit and learn
fabulous place to learn about the textile industry that coined this area. The textile museum with the weaving and spinning hall will give you a great insight into the old industry. If you're lucky you'll even get a guided tour in English. I found it fascinating to learn about the industry and trade of the 19th century. The Textilwerk itself has changing exhibitions of fashion types throughout the centuries. Both historic buildings are particularly good when it's raining you you're looking for something dry to do ;)

    Fruehstueck/ Brunch
Eine ausgezeichnte Alternative MIT fantastischer Aussicht. The food choice is exceptional. Excellent value for money... However be there for opening time as advertised. No queuing , remember you are in Deutschland. Who arrives first gets the choice of table... there is no new food added once the buffet is opened. In other words arrive late and there may only be a coffee for you haha... So get here in time. MIT freundlichen Gruessen Dirk Bollwerk
