Unique experience in a botanical garden!
Botania is a botanical garden and a tropical butterfly garden, offering excursions into the world of plants. No need to fly to the tropics, tropical plants and temperatures are to be found in Botania. In the tropical section, you will be greeted by residents of the tropics: for example the sulfur-crested cockatoo Juuso and the Amazon parrots Lasse and Ilmari. Depending on the time of year tens of different species of tropical butterflies can be found soaring freely around one of the greenhouses of Botania. The butterflies can be seen in four different stages of development. Botania also has changing exhibitions on different themes, plus a year round exhibition of butterfly and insect collections. We offer guided tours by reservation. The outdoor garden is open during opening hours and entrance is free of charge. You can picnic under the trees.

Inspirational
Great inspiring place to experience nature in the tropics, desert and much more. Great atmosphere and surroundings outside. Not just a standard botanical garden, it's a combination of nature and (light) art. I will certainly visit it again on my next trip to Finland.

Tropical gem
Botania is recently renovated and was not yet complete. However, the premises that were open, were very beatuifully renovated and you could see very closely flora from tropical, subtropical, Mediterranean and desert climats. In some rooms they have exotic butterflies also and they might sit on your shoulders. Beautiful! Accessible also with disabilities (wheelchair, rollator, etc.)
