Fantastic Day - plenty to see
Went for a long day trip from Auckland (about 2 1/2 hours) and was worth the trip. First stop was the Lady Knox Geyser. You have to be there by 10am as the guide talks to the history of the site and then provides some product that makes the geyser performed on cue (a little manufactured but still good to see). A big crowd as COVID restrictions now lifted and then headed off to the self guided tour and was not disappointed. The steam and hot underground water / lakes / mud was superb and the only comment I would make is that the sign posts for the key sites are too brief and more information would be helpful. Well worth a visit and the teenage family really enjoyed.

Best Geyser in town!!!!
Beautiful geothermal park with the stunning Lady Knox geyser....it is the best I have seen rising several metres for a good long while! Joelle presented the geyser and its history in superb style and treated us to a Maori song as we waited with excitement and anticipation for it to erupt! There was good access to the geyser for those with limited mobility. Joelle also very kindly came to my rescue with a wheelchair when my back locked and I was unable to walk back to my car. I can't thank her enough for her kindness and understanding of my embarrassing predicament!
