Well worth the effort to get there.

Two and a half floors of cars, trucks, and bikes, having taken a train, then a taxi to the venue from Wellington city, was well worth it. Lots of types that I had never seen before. they even have a Lada.

Well worth the time and money
Came back after last visiting 32 years ago with my then boyfriend lol. A vehicle lovers dream with A LOT to see! Everything is presented beautifully and you feel like you are stepping back in time with some of the very old cars they have. Make time to leisurely stroll through and notice the details.

    Southward Car Museum
Our family took a detour and headed to Southward Car Museum as we had heard that it was a super place to visit. We bought a family pass for $45 and spent about 2,5hours there. A very large collection of motor vehicles from yesteryear to as recent as 2020 with multiple levels to access. We were fascinated by the condition of most of the vehicles and it brought back so many childhood memories for my husband and I, of days driving / sitting in Zephyrs and Anglias....... There is also a very impressive, cabinet collection of die cast fire engines which had us enthralled for at least an hour. This museum is based on well manicured and absolutely pristine grounds. Well worth a visit for anyone heading to the Kapiti Coast.
